Empirical validation and analysis of the energy performance of an ecological Net Zero Energy Building (NZEB) in Benguerir-Morocco

Within the framework of sustainable development and carbon-neutrality, building sector is a key target national energy strategy towards zero-carbon economy in Morocco. This article comes response to this need by assessing performance solar-powered low-embodied-carbon semi-arid climate Benguerir-Morocco, which refers fifth climatic zone thermal regulation for constructions Morocco (RTCM). To do so, we’ve used Openstudio as modeling tool investigate self-sufficiency detached Net Zero Energy Building (NZEB) that has floor area 47 m², uses earth-based material main component part envelope photovoltaic installation with capacity 4 kW. The accuracy model was empirically validated following ASHRAE 14 guidelines monitoring hourly indoor temperatures 8 days during summer season. Results show annual needs cooling heating are 123.4 kWh/m²/year calculated (SS) 1.25, means solar technology greatly offsets electrical rech goal Building.
